It is made from peanut sauce with a variety of vegetables, stewed oxtail. and bagoong(shrimp paste).
This dish is one of my favourites.

Here is a simple recipe that you can use.

Ingredients:

2 pkg. Oxtail
1 med. sized eggplant (cut into pieces)
1 bunch of sitaw
1 cup of peanut butter
4-5 cloves of garlic, minced or chopped
3 tbsp. cooking oil
tripes (optional)
3 tbsp. Dagupan bagoong (Shrimp paste) * you can use any brand of bagoong
a cup of water
Salt

Procedure:
Add the oxtails, water and salt to a large pot and set over medium flame. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until the oxtails are tender. Skim any scum that rises to the surface. Remove the oxtails to a plate and reserve the stock.
Heat the oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Pat the oxtails dry and brown them on all sides in the oil. Remove the oxtails and add the sliced onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion is wilted.
Add back the browned oxtails and reserved stock. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium and simmer for about 15 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Stir in the sitaw and eggplant and simmer for another 15 to 20 minutes.
In a bowl, mix together the peanut butter and 1 cup of the stew liquid until smooth and then stir it into the stew. Simmer for another 10 minutes or so until the stew has thickened.
Adjust seasoning and serve with white rice and some sautéed bagoong alamang on the side.

Miso Japanese Restaurant

This restaurant is located on Stafford near Pembina Hwy. in Winnipeg, MB. They have really nice chandeliers. You will never find something as unique as that. The cutlery are really nice. Especially the steak knives. I have never seen anything like it.

The people that work there are really friendly.

They serve you some fresh bread with whipped butter and after they serve you with the main course.

I ordered the 7 oz. top sirloin steak with infused mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal veggies on the side. It was awesome. One of the best steaks i ever had in my life. I tried steak at other places but this has got to be one of the best.

Even the washrooms are nice. it has it's own huge door to walk into with a little vacancy sign if it's occupied or not and the sinks are sensored so you don't have to worry about turning the tap on or off. It has a cool fireplace beside the door. I don't know if it' just a display or a real one. hehe.

To end things off, when we got the bill it was kind of pricey. It's good to go there if you have lots of money. But i can't really complain because the food was awesome.
